Commercial Kitchens

Stainless Steel Fabrication for the Commercial Kitchen Industry

There is always a risk of falls and potential for the spread of bacteria due to the busy nature of commercial kitchens. Therefore, it’s important to consider a clean, safe environment when designing a kitchen drainage system.

Drainage solutions are challenging to design, however perfectly fitted drainage systems can easily cleaned to improve health and safety of the entire environment.

The Aspen Stainless team will work with you to assess your requirements and determine the most effective options for the project at hand. By understanding how you operate, we can design and install food processing floor drains and full drainage solutions that can withstand the amount of waste or discharge that you regularly produce.

Aspen Stainless provides a full range of hygienically engineered solutions to reduce the risk of harmful bacteria in drainage and, by removing surface liquids from floor areas, prevent the spread of bacteria and reduce the risk of slip-related injuries. Trips and falls are common in kitchens and account for 40% of injuries in this sector; in particular an overflowing drain can cause a serious trip hazard. The pendulum slip test assesses the friction offered by the floor when a foot comes into contact with the surface and is subject of a British standard, BS 7976: Parts 1-3. At Aspen Stainless we conduct slip tests using the pendulum to test compliance with the latest HSE and UKSRG guidelines. The pendulum has proven to deliver the most accurate results and is therefore the adopted method for assessing floor slipperiness in all conditions.
